MEET THE FOUNDER

Nikeda Stanback

M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, IBA, CBHCM-S

Nikeda is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with more than 10 years of experience, including six and a half years building and scaling her own ABA companies.

She has trained RBTs, helped behavior technicians grow into behavior analysts, built teams, written protocols, credentialed companies, and completed more professional development—as both the learner and the trainer—than she can count. Translation: she knows when a training is giving “mandatory meeting that could’ve been an email.”

Nikeda founded Outside the Box Trainings in 2025. After transitioning out of day-to-day clinical work in 2026, she got serious about building it—and OTB Learning Group—into something bigger: evidence-based learning with personality, cultural relevance, and people skills professionals can actually use.

Her teaching style blends real-world situations, sharp storytelling, pop-culture connections, and thoughtful technology—including Nikki, her digital twin. Nikki is also Nikeda’s real-life nickname, so the digital version is less random robot and more the same instructor with unlimited outfit changes.

Today, Nikeda is expanding her work across the lifespan through behavior-informed training and consultation for senior living, dementia care, and long-term care settings. Her goal remains the same: helping professionals and caregivers learn something today that changes how they show up tomorrow.

“The future of ABA will not be defined by who can recruit the fastest. It will be defined by who builds the strongest workforce pipeline.”

PLOT TWIST

Before becoming a BCBA and founding Outside the Box Trainings, Nikeda appeared on MTV’s The Assistant with Andy Dick in 2004. She was cut in episode one, brought back in episode three, then cut again. Apparently, one elimination was not enough—even reality TV needed an encore. Call it an early lesson in resilience, reinvention, and knowing how to make a comeback. Pop culture was never added to the OTB brand. It was already in the plot.

THE STORY BEHIND THE MISSION

I found ABA by accident. Others shouldn’t have to.

Nikeda’s path into applied behavior analysis began with an unexpected opportunity after a layoff—not with a clear career map. That experience shaped OTB Learning Group’s commitment to exposing students, paraprofessionals, mentors, and frontline professionals to ABA careers earlier and connecting training to real opportunity.

“I found ABA by accident. My mission is to help others find it on purpose.”
